As always, we’ve worked to have some amazing autographed collectables available during the pre-show auction. Your support helps us fund critical SMA research and provide specialized wheelchairs to young children.
Dave is perhaps best known as “Joey” from the hit ABC television series, Full House, which aired for eight seasons. Dave followed this success by hosting his second prime-time hit series, America’s Funniest People, which ran on ABC for four seasons. Dave’s performed his clean stand-up on The Tonight Show, HBO’s Detroit Comedy Jam and HBO’s Comic Relief at Radio City Music Hall. He continues to sell out shows at colleges, corporate events, casinos, nightclubs and theaters.
Henry’s TV and film credits include appearances on NBC’s The Tonight Show, CBS’s The Late, Late, Show, and NBC’s Young Comedians Special. He served two years as host of NBC’s Friday Night Videos and had many guest roles on various network sitcoms. He has worked extensively with Vince Gill, Amy Grant, Willie Nelson, Carrie Underwood and many, others. The adult but clean comedy is something the entire family can enjoy. And as Henry says, “I’m an Asian with a Southern accent. To a lot of people, that right there is funny.”
Come early to see the collectable items in our pre-show silent auction, starting at 6:45pm. We work hard to have truly great items available. In years past we’ve had everything from sheet music autographed by Top 40 stars and guitars signed by country legends to autographed sports memorabilia and iconic movie posters signed by the main cast. Laugh Away SMA is a comedy event that provides a fun evening out for the community and helps save the lives of children with Spinal Muscular Atrophy (SMA), a degenerative disease that causes the muscles to waste away, which can eventually lead to death. All of the proceeds benefit Stop SMA, a small non-profit with a big heart and a big vision — to stop SMA in its tracks. Stop SMA funds groundbreaking research that is vital to finding a cure for SMA.
